How it Works
Introduction
|
I wrote My-Task-List primarily for myself.
Typically I work on 10-15 web projects at once and it's nearly impossible
to keep track of them all without a task list. In the office environment I've
usually kept a pen and pad nearby and written my tasks one-by-one on the notepad,
crossing them off as I complete them.
My-Task-List was built with the simple premise of emulating that pen and notepad.
Note: This document will always be updated when we launch site improvements.

Navigation
|
My-Task-List is meant to be as fast as possible. I'm a web developer
so I type fast, I process information quickly, and I multitask. Therefore,
a sincere effort has been made to minimize clicks, page loads, and typing.
You'll find almost every link you need on every page. And if you aren't
where you want to be, you'll usually get there in two clicks or less.
All tasks and categories are edited inline,
meaning you continue to see your entire task list while you're making changes to
one or two tasks. You can also edit as many as you want at a time.
|
Categories
|
You'll start off creating categories like "Errands" or "Grocery List." Categories can only go one level deep, so I create mine like this:
- Home: Finance
- Home: Grocery List
- Home: Wish List
- Project: Web Design 1
- Project: Web Design 2
- ZZZ: Miscellaneous
|
Tasks
|
Each task will be assigned to a category. Like categories, tasks can only go one level deep (think pen and notepad). Tasks are then prioritized by severity (1 thru 5) and due date. You may also set a reminder (on/off) for each task. Please note reminders are still in BETA and aren't functional yet. It's being worked on.
Once you've created your tasks you manage them like any task list. Rearrange priority, remove tasks that no longer belong, complete tasks you've finished. Start new projects (categories) and track them from start to finish.
